Bliss

Yellow Dog has been so lonely while Adam has been gone. So I spoiled him and let him lay on the couch next to me last night while we watched tv.

Sometimes it is more love than hate...

Just Pretending

We catch Lilly playing by herself with her toys alot. When asked what she is doing, she tells us she is pretending. These glasses are her current pretending toy. They are a pair of sunglasses that the lenses have popped out of. She has worn them everywhere for the last two days. During all of our shopping trips, while feeding the dog, watching tv, and playing outside. I don't know what she is pretending this time, but they are so cute on her I just let her wear them everywhere. If she needs glasses in the long run we have an idea how completely darling she will look in them.

By the way, she almost let me take her picture. Zane took the first picture. She actually posed for him. What is that about? Anyways, I tried really had to get a picture so you could see the glasses. (Also the blue lips are from a slush from Target. She has quite the look going for her.)

My sister-in-law spoils me...

Tanya painted this for me. She gave me this window frame from the old farm house 5 years ago and I always hung it never knowing what to do with it. Since she has found the hidden talent of painting she decided to do something with it for me. I ended up with this beautiful product. She has also given me a beautiful butterfly house and a bird house. She spoils me.

Mary's 1st Meet

I am so proud of Mary. Last night was her first Gymnastics meet. As you you know she has been doing gymnastics since she was 4. Once we started at the Gym after we moved, she has finally found a program and coaches that she thrives with. She is now a level 4 and had her first gymnastics meet last night. I was so proud of her. She has worked so hard and was very nervous. But knowing Mary, she just had to get through this first one so she understood what was going on and what was expected. By the time it was over she was grinning from ear to ear and didn't want it to end. She wanted to go compete again today and next week and so on so she said. She thrives on stuff like that. Her next meet isn't until the 3rd weekend in Oct. She is just going to have to settle with practicing 6 hours a week.

Vault is her favorite. She does 2 vaults.

Mary's Floor Routine

Listening to her Coach ahead of time. She is the 3rd one from the coach looking backwards.

At the Gym Introduction. Her Gym is on the far left.

Waiting to begin her bar routine.

Waiting for the judges for her floor routine.

We are so proud of her.

Of course. Lilly had to wear her leotard and used the bleacher for her bars/beam. She was plenty of entertainment herself.

29 Again

Happy Birthday to Me!
It has been a good day. Turning 29 again really works for me. My husband has taken care of as many of the jobs around the house as he can, we went out to lunch, picked up my new cell phone, and decided to get me a bike. I am so excited to ride with the kids. My kids have wished me Happy Birthday many times, and given me many hugs and kisses.
Its been a good day. I love my family.
Happy Birthday to Me!

6 Random things about me...

  • As my sister said, I iron everything. To be honest, I iron almost everything. I haven't ironed underwear yet or socks. But I do iron my pj's, my kids clothes (even t-shirts), pillowcases, sheets, and even kitchen towels sometimes. I don't iron my kids pj's, but I probably would if it needed it. I have to replace my iron once a year because I wear the previous one out. I am convinced my families clothes look better because of it. Plus I go to bed feeling like I look good until morning when I am a wrinkled mess. It has gotten to the point that I honestly have a calous on my hand from the iron. I use to pay my sisters to iron for me, but they eventually wised up. But I will be honest, I only iron a few of Adam's items. I insist on taking them to the cleaners because they do a much better job than I can, plus I only have so much time to iron.

  • I am an animal lover. I would have many, many animals if I could. Adam is a hard sell though and so amazingly enough right now we have the two dogs. I love them all though. I would love to evenually volunteer at the zoo or such where I could interact with a larger variety. I just need the therapy of an animal on a daily basis. Whether it be doggie kisses, nose nudges, play time, a good massage, a long walk, or a snuggle, I need it daily from a furry friend. No reptiles please.

  • I havn't held a paying job in 12 years. If I had to go back to work now I don't know what I would do? I am happy being a fulltime mom for the rest of my life.

  • I have recently determined that I am neither a morning person or a night person. I love my sleep and I don't feel like I ever get enough of it.

  • I love being busy. The busier I am the more organized my whole life is.

  • I have known my husband for 29 years this month. Although we have only been married 13 of those wonderful years.

(I am adding one extra. I hate socks, absolutely hate them. Even in the winter. I will wear my clogs all winter long without socks. I have stepped into the snow a few times, which isn't so fun, but I don't hate it enough to put socks on.)

Seriously

Seriously, do I need this much help? What you can't see is the bone that is in her mouth that she is insisting on chewing on my leg or my foot while I try to sew. On my foot, on my leg, at least I finally convinced her she could lay next to me and it was close enough.

Sorry you are having to deal with lots of our dog pictures but the kids (meaning Lilly) run from the camera whenever I pull it out. The other kids are at school. So needless to say you get pictues of the dogs.

Now Introducing

Yellow Dog
He is the new love of our life. Why have one dog you can have two? Plus 4 children.

He is a yellow lab that we adopted from the dumb friends league here. He is about eight years old and if absolutely perfect. Raised with children and other dogs, older and well trained. We love him. He has a mission here and we are very excied to have him join our family.

September

My kids went back to school today. Lilly and I had a little party to celebrate the quiet.
(But just a little one.)
I don't know if most kids are on a traditional schedule or a year round schedule, but I love year round school. I love having 3 weeks off at a time and returning for 9 weeks. I enjoyed having Boston home for the summer on his traditional schedule and having some much needed one on one time with him. But I know my elementary school kids are ready for the break by the time they track off and I am ready for them to return after 3 weeks. It is a great system.
My kids are not thrilled with the start of homework again though.
Zane is sitting next to me growling and throwing his pencil down on the table quite violently because he is has a lack of desire to do it right now.
There are many reasons why I live where I do. If you don't like the weather just give it 10 minutes and it changes. It has been beautiful here and so much cooler. We leave the windows open at night and need a jacket in the mornings. It is gorgeous. The leaves are changing and we get to watch all the storms move in over our mountains just west of our house.
As any one who talks to me frequently can attest, I forget things all the time. So this time is not different. I had something I wanted to blog about and now I don't remember. So until I remember....

Catch Up

Our crazy little Lulu. She is so much fun and so rotten. I sent her picture and Belle's picture into the Pug a Day site. She should show up in a month or so. Watch for them.
Just a quick check up on our life. We have been so crazy busy. Adam was involved with emergency communications here recently and gone a lot. So the kids and I have been doing all the activities together. Between gymnastics, school, football, starting piano, choir, trombone, and church we are running around like maniacs. But having so much fun doing it.
Here are a few pictures from football and practice. This is Zane being exhausted after a lot of football practice. He actrually has a lot of bruises to show for his efforts. He is so cute!

This is us heading to the zoo again. You know us. We spend all of our free time here. It is beautiful outside, there is fresh air, and lots of walking around. How could you go wrong. Nurel and J'Anne were here this week and we took all of them. Or course we had to have a picture of the new baby giraffe again. He is 3 weeks old now.

Zane's 1st Football Game

Zane's number is 72. Otherwise I would not always be able to find him. He had his first football game of the season on Sat. It was a beautiful day and a great game. They didn't win, but Zane did caught the fumble and they only lost my one touch done. It was a great experience for them and they learned alot. It is going to be a great season. I am so proud of Zane.
