I agree with Kat about the Poisonwood Bible--it is one of my all-time favorites and so is anything else by Barbara Kingsolver--Animal Dreams, Pigs in Heaven, The Bean Trees, etc. I just finished a book called The Help which was great and Honolulu which wasn't as well written, but it was an interesting story that introduced me to a new culture.
I am best friends with my high school sweetheart and lucky enough to be his wife. We have 4 wonderful, busy kids. 2 boys and 2 girls. My oldest is serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Ghana, Accra West Mission. We also have 4 furry kids. Lulu the pug, Izzy the black lab, and Zezrum, the 200 lb St. Bernard, and then one cat. Sophie is the Queen of the house. We have absolute chaos at our house, but we wouldn't trade it for anything. We love our life we have been blessed with.

I just finished Left to Tell and the Poisonwood Bible and loved them both. Good reads for sure.
